HOW IT BEGAN

A career grounded in sport and physical rehabilitation

Rosa Larrondo’s path to massage therapy began with sport, discipline and a profound understanding of the human body. A competitive track-and-field athlete, Rosa represented Cuba’s national team in discus throw for 10 years, gaining first-hand insight into athletic training, physical performance, movement, recovery and the demands placed on the body.

Her passion for human movement led her to study Physical Culture, earning a Bachelor of Science in Havana, Cuba, in 1986. She then spent 10 years at Julito Díaz International Rehabilitation Hospital, where she gained extensive experience in rehabilitation and a deeper appreciation for individualized care and functional recovery.

Together, her athletic and physical rehabilitation backgrounds shaped the clinical stance she brings to her work today: looking beyond where a person experiences discomfort to understand the individual, their history, their movement and what their body needs to function better.

After moving to Canada, Rosa continued to build on her education and professional experience. She graduated from Villa Maria College in Buffalo, New York, United States in 2007, receiving the Award of the Year, and has practised massage therapy in Ontario since 2009.

Today, Rosa brings extensive experience across sport, physical rehabilitation and clinical massage therapy to her practice. Her approach is thoughtful and assessment-led, taking the time to understand each client’s health history, physical needs, lifestyle, concerns and goals before developing an individualized treatment approach.

For Rosa, massage therapy is not simply about providing a treatment. It is about understanding the person, respecting the body’s individual needs and helping each client move toward greater comfort, mobility, function and well-being.

When she’s not caring for clients, Rosa enjoys the little things that make Niagara feel like home. You’ll often find her exploring the Niagara Escarpment, tending to her garden and plants or enjoying a refreshing afternoon swim in her pool on warm summer days.
