AFTER SURGERY

Recovery after cosmetic and reconstructive surgery

Lymphatic drainage massage may be appropriate following liposuction, tummy tuck, abdominal etching and breast reconstruction. Treatment usually begins 7 to 14 days after surgery, and the timing that suits your recovery is confirmed at your assessment.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Surgeon clearance is required

If you are within the first four to six weeks after surgery, written clearance from your surgeon is required before your first appointment. Your health history is screened for contraindications before any treatment begins. Bring your surgical date and any post-operative instructions to your first visit.

HOW TREATMENT WORKS

What happens in a lymphatic drainage session

01

Assessment of swelling, surgical sites, skin condition and movement

Screening for contraindications against your health history

02

Light, rhythmic techniques following lymph pathways toward drainage points

No deep pressure at any point in the session

03

Guidance on hydration, movement and what to watch for between appointments

RECOVERY IS A SERIES

One appointment is a start, not a plan

Post-surgical recovery usually takes several weeks and involves multiple sessions rather than a single visit. As your recovery progresses, adjustments are made to your treatment. Booking your first few appointments together can help maintain consistent care during the important early stages, which is what the post-surgical package above is for.

OTHER REASONS CLIENTS BOOK

Swelling, fluid retention and lymphatic support

Lymphatic drainage massage also helps with ongoing swelling, fluid retention, and supports the lymphatic system alongside your medical care.
