BEING HEARD

Your care starts with your health history

Your massage therapist takes the time to understand your health history, goals and previous experience with massage. That understanding helps guide a thorough assessment and an individualized treatment approach, with your feedback shaping care as your needs change.

UNDER ONE ROOF

One massage clinic, three areas of clinical care

Manual therapy, lymphatic work and light therapy are all offered here. Which of them your treatment includes depends on what your assessment shows.

Registered Massage Therapy

Assessment-led treatment for muscle and joint pain, headaches, postural strain, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis and stress-related tension. Where appropriate, your treatment may also include Anodyne or red light therapy, based on your assessment and treatment goals.

Lymphatic Drainage

Gentle, rhythmic massage techniques that follow the body’s natural lymph pathways and may help reduce swelling. Treatment is tailored to your recovery and may be appropriate following liposuction, tummy tuck, abdominal etching or breast reconstruction. Treatment usually begins 7 to 14 days after

Laser & Red Light Therapy

Your massage therapist will determine whether either approach is appropriate, based on your assessment, needs and treatment goals. Anodyne therapy may be used to support care for nerve pain and neuropathy, including diabetic peripheral neuropathy, as well as arthritis and inflammation. Red light therapy may support tissue recovery.

YOUR FIRST VISIT

A thorough assessment before treatment begins

Before your first appointment, complete your health history and consent forms at least 24 hours in advance and arrive 15 minutes early. Your massage therapist will review your history, assess your movement and relevant tissue condition, discuss your needs and explain the recommended treatment approach before care begins.

Massage therapy treatment is tailored to your needs, whether you’re managing acute pain, chronic pain or a more complex concern. Your massage therapist will assess your needs, discuss your goals and recommend an approach that can be adjusted as your response to treatment changes.

HOW IT BEGAN

A career grounded in physical rehabilitation

Rosa Larrondo’s path to massage therapy began with sport. After competing in discus for Cuba’s national team for 10 years, she went on to study Physical Culture and earn a Bachelor of Science in Havana, Cuba in 1986, followed by ten years at Julito Díaz International Rehabilitation Hospital. Her background in sport and rehabilitation shaped her understanding of movement, recovery and individualized care.

After moving to Canada in 1998, Rosa continued her professional journey. She graduated from Villa Maria College in Buffalo in 2007 and has practised massage therapy in Ontario since 2009. Her experience informs an assessment-led approach that considers each client’s health history, needs and goals.
